Join us for Soda Free Sundays – Oral Health Watch

We want to let you know about a community-wide challenge to take a break from soda and other sugary drinks for just one day a week for six weeks, April 27 – June 7, 2011.  Arcora Foundation is a proud supporter of this effort because sugary drinks are one of the major contributors of obesity and tooth decay, particularly among kids.

Soda consumption increases risk for tooth decay (cavities) –

  • High sugar and harmful levels of acid in soda drinks contribute to tooth decay.  Drinking diet soda canalso lead to tooth decay because it contains high levels of acid that can erode teeth.
  • Frequent sipping of soda throughout the day results in constant acid attacks on the teeth which over time can weaken tooth enamel and cause cavities.

Protect your oral health and take a break from soda and sugary drinks.  Encourage your family and friends to join you.   Preventing dental decay saves money and improves overall health.
